Sustainable Comfort with Earth-Based Energy Solutions

For over 25 years, White Mechanical has been a trusted HVAC contractor in Twin Falls, Idaho, delivering advanced, energy-efficient solutions for homes and businesses across the Magic Valley. One of the most powerful technologies we recommend for long-term savings and environmental responsibility is geothermal heating and cooling. These systems use the stable temperatures beneath the earth’s surface to heat and cool your property with unmatched efficiency. Unlike traditional HVAC systems, which rely on external air that can fluctuate wildly with the seasons, geothermal systems maintain consistent indoor comfort by circulating fluid through underground loops.

A geothermal heating and cooling system transfers heat to or from the earth, depending on the season, providing sustainable heating in winter and efficient cooling in summer.

The climate in Twin Falls, Idaho, Jerome, and surrounding areas, with its cold winters and hot, dry summers, makes geothermal systems an ideal choice for year-round climate control. Whether you’re building a new home in Kimberly or retrofitting a business in Buhl, White Mechanical offers custom-designed geothermal solutions that reduce energy bills, minimize your carbon footprint, and deliver dependable indoor comfort.

Our team is trained and certified to handle all phases of geothermal HVAC projects—from design and installation to ongoing maintenance. As a locally operated company, we understand the specific geological and climate conditions in southern Idaho, which allows us to design high-performance systems suited for your property and soil composition. If you’re seeking a sustainable, efficient, and reliable way to control your indoor environment, geothermal heating and cooling may be the perfect solution.

Our Geothermal Services

Site Evaluation and System Design

We begin with a thorough site evaluation, analyzing your property’s layout, soil composition, and energy needs. Based on this assessment, we design a custom geothermal system that maximizes performance, ensures long-term efficiency, and integrates seamlessly into your home or business infrastructure.

Loop Field Installation

If you have a conventional HVAC system, we offer geothermal retrofitting services. Our experts carefully adapt existing setups to integrate geothermal technology, allowing you to enjoy energy savings and comfort without the need for full property reconstruction or major system overhauls.

System Maintenance and Repairs

We offer ongoing maintenance to keep your geothermal system performing at peak efficiency. From routine inspections to diagnostic repairs and seasonal tune-ups, our technicians ensure your system stays reliable, minimizes downtime, and delivers consistent energy savings year after year.

Commercial Geothermal Solutions

We design and install geothermal systems for commercial properties such as offices, schools, and municipal buildings. These systems reduce operational costs, support green initiatives, and provide reliable, low-maintenance comfort tailored to the specific needs of large-scale facilities.

Benefits of Geothermal Heating & Cooling

Substantial Energy Savings

Geothermal systems can reduce energy costs by up to 70% by transferring heat instead of generating it. This high efficiency results in significantly lower utility bills over time, making geothermal a cost-effective and eco-conscious alternative to traditional heating and cooling methods.

Environmentally Friendly Operation

Geothermal systems produce no direct emissions, helping to reduce environmental impact. By using renewable energy from the earth, these systems support cleaner air and decreased greenhouse gas output, making them a smart, sustainable choice for homeowners and businesses prioritizing energy responsibility.

Quiet and Consistent Performance

Geothermal systems operate quietly, without the noise associated with outdoor condensers or combustion furnaces. They maintain even indoor temperatures without frequent cycling, creating a more peaceful and consistently comfortable environment throughout your home or building year-round.

Long System Lifespan

With underground loops lasting over 50 years and indoor units lasting 20 to 25 years, geothermal systems offer excellent long-term reliability. Their durability means fewer repairs and replacements, making geothermal a low-maintenance and high-return investment for decades to come.

Year-Round Comfort from One System

Geothermal systems provide both heating and cooling using a single system. This all-in-one solution eliminates the need for separate equipment, streamlining your HVAC setup while maintaining optimal comfort in every season with minimal equipment and reduced energy consumption.

Eligible for Incentives and Rebates

Geothermal installations often qualify for federal tax credits, state incentives, and energy efficiency rebates. These financial benefits help offset upfront costs, making geothermal systems more affordable while encouraging the transition to sustainable and energy-efficient heating and cooling solutions.

Invest in the Power Beneath Your Feet

The future of heating and cooling isn’t in the air—it’s in the ground beneath your feet. Geothermal systems offer one of the most energy-efficient and environmentally friendly ways to heat and cool your space. At White Mechanical, we’ve seen firsthand how this technology transforms homes and businesses by slashing energy bills, eliminating noisy equipment, and supporting a cleaner, greener Idaho. Frequently Asked Questions

  • How does a geothermal heating and cooling system work?

Geothermal systems use underground loops to transfer heat between your property and the earth. During winter, they extract warmth from the ground. In summer, they remove heat from your home. This energy is moved via a heat pump, ensuring efficient, stable indoor comfort year-round using natural ground temperatures.

  • Is geothermal really more efficient than traditional HVAC systems?

Yes. Geothermal systems are up to 400% more efficient than standard HVAC units. They don’t burn fuel to generate heat—they move it. This significantly reduces electricity usage and monthly energy bills, while providing improved temperature control and less strain on your system over time.

  • Can geothermal systems be installed in existing homes?

Absolutely. Many existing homes can be retrofitted for geothermal systems. We evaluate your current setup, property size, and available yard space to determine feasibility. Retrofit options allow you to upgrade your system without rebuilding or significant structural changes to your home or ductwork.

  • How long does a geothermal system last?

Geothermal systems are incredibly durable. Underground loop fields can last over 50 years, and indoor heat pumps typically function for 20 to 25 years. With regular maintenance, these systems offer dependable performance, fewer breakdowns, and excellent return on investment over their extended lifespan.

  • Are there incentives for installing geothermal in Idaho?

Yes, geothermal systems often qualify for federal tax credits and local energy incentives in Idaho. These programs can offset a significant portion of your installation costs, making the transition to a geothermal system more affordable for both homeowners and business owners.

  • Does geothermal work during extreme cold or heat?

Yes. Geothermal systems perform efficiently in extreme temperatures because they rely on the earth’s consistent underground heat, not fluctuating outdoor air. They continue to deliver reliable heating during freezing winters and efficient cooling during hot summers, no matter the surface conditions.

  • What type of maintenance is required for geothermal systems?

Geothermal systems require less maintenance than traditional HVAC units. Routine upkeep includes inspecting filters, checking loop pressure, and servicing the heat pump. Scheduled maintenance ensures maximum efficiency, prevents costly repairs, and keeps the system running smoothly for decades of reliable operation.

  • Is geothermal a good option for commercial properties?

Yes. Geothermal systems are ideal for commercial buildings. They reduce utility costs, have fewer moving parts, and require less mechanical space. Businesses benefit from stable year-round comfort, long-term savings, and alignment with green building initiatives that support energy efficiency and sustainability goals.

Highly recommend Jesse and White Mechanical !! I came home from a 2 week hospital stay after a bad car accident in August, my house was hot and ac wasn't working. It was a Saturday afternoon, I called the company that installed it and they wouldn't come out. It went from 70 to 82 by 9 pm, didn't know who to call , I was in bad shape still so I needed it fixed asap, luckily I called Jesse. He was going out of town for a few days the next morning but said he could come over that night. A major component blew and he was able to fix my ac unit and get it working properly again. He went out of his way and saved the day !! I skipped calling the company that installed it for a spring check on the ac unit and called Jesse first. He worked with my schedule around doctors appts to come over. Goes above and beyond to make sure your taken care of and everything is working properly. Very fair prices, honest and reliable to a fault. I highly recommend Jesse and will call him with all questions and services from here on out. Thanks again for everything everything Jesse !! I really appreciate it and you !!

I’ve had Jesse from White’s Mechanical do several jobs for me over the years. Most recently, we had a total failure of the outside A/C unit. He was not only able to upgrade that, but the furnace, as well, and for a better price than the other quotes I had received. I have and will continue to recommend him to all my friends and family, as he has earned my trust. I believe you will have an equally great experience with Jesse and his guys! Thanks for your hard work fellas!
